Backwards hats
My hairdresser and I used to talk about how we don't understand why people where their hats backwards. We agreed that it must be a self confidence issue. Well this summer I worked as a road and utilities surveyor for my local engineering firm. We went to work early, before the sun was shining bright, and we would be away from the truck for long periods of time. I have moderately sensitive eyes so it was important that when the sun came out I had proper protection. But, I faced the dilemma: to wear my hat or not to? If I wore it before the sun came out then it was inconveniently dark for me to work. But, if I waited until later when we got back to the truck usually it was bright and the headache would began to set in. Eventually we got a new co-worker and I was inspired. Wear my hat backwards in the morning when it was dark then wear it normal when the sun came out. It was brilliant! I was simply in awe at how splendidly it worked. I then realized that there are logical reasons for wearing your hat backwards. Additionally I enjoy going to football games at my school. Usually the games start when it is sunny and finish in the dark. Another reason to use the backwards hat trick, except in the reversed order of my summer routine. What I still don't understand though is the people who wear hats to the mall and to the movies, many of them wear them in the regular style which is even more confusing to me. Quite frankly I just don't get it. If anyone has any input to offer please comment. I really just don't understand the point of deliberately wearing hats indoors, especially in the evening and for a night of clubbing.
